Bauang Beach, La Union Philippines Travel Guide

Bauang is a town in the province of La Union, Philippines. Bauang is bordered by San Fernando City, Caba, Naguilian, and the West Philippine Sea. Bauang is known for its beaches/shorelines and resorts. The town’s name is derived from the Ilokano word baoang which means “garlic”.

Bauang Beach

The waters are warm which is perfect for a swim. There are some jelly fish especially during summer seasons. The beach is also used by the local fishermen to fish. Freshly caught fish are available and sold by the locals. Boats are also available for hire, it costs around 500 php and they can take you to other beaches with caves/white sand.

The sand is fine dark grey and the water is relatively clear. There some junk and broken glasses on the beach. I saw some people cleaning but hopefully residents and visitors can be more responsible. The sun set at Bauang is spectacular and romantic.
