Grape Picking in Bauang, La Union
Do you love grapes? Have you ever wondered how they are grown? Great news! There are actual grape vineyards in the Philippines. Bauang, La Union is known for their beaches, but the towns vineyards are attracting tourists from all over the country. The La Union grape farms are located in Brgy Urayong, MacArthur Highway, Bauang La Union.
Longboy Farms was the pioneering vineyard farm in town. They started propagation of grapes in the 70’s. Mr. Avelino Lomboy was the founder of Longboy farm and known as the “grape king”. Today there are several family-owned vineyards in the area. Visitors can enjoy the scenic view of the farms and experience grapes picking.
The entrance fee for Longboy Farm is 100 PHP while Gapuz Farm is free. We decided to go to Gapuz Farm. The price of the grapes is not fixed so it is better to contact the farms for availability and prices. Other than grapes the farms in the area also produces guapple , dragon fruit and papayas. Grape picking season usually starts in summer (March-May).

- From Manila– Ride a bus bound for La Union/Laoag/ Vigan and inform driver to drop you at Bauang-Caba boundary (arc). (400-450 php)
- From Baguio– Ride a bus for Vigan/Laoag/La Union at Gov Pack rrd. Inform driver to drop you at Bauang Caltex station (75-95 php) then ride buses going Carmen/Dagupan (15 php). inform driver to drop you at Bauang-Caba boundary (arc).
Longboy Farm is just located near the Arc/highway. Gapuz Farm and the other farms are not near the highway; there is a small road near the arc that leads to the other farms. There are also people in motorbikes that will lead you to the farm.
