Cherry Blossoms at Ueno Park

Ueno Park or Ueno Kōen 上野公園 (Kōen is Japanese for park) – It is a large public park in Northern Tokyo, Japan. The park is known as one of Tokyo’s best Cherry Blossom spots. There are several museums, temples and shrines in the area including a Zoo. The best time to visit is during sakura season (late March and early April. It is the perfect time to view the Cherry Blossoms at Ueno Park .

I spent the afternoon strolling in the park.  During Sakura season the park is full of people and several Sakura viewing parties are held. There are more than a thousand sakura trees in the park. When I visited, the cherry blossoms at Ueno park have not fully bloomed yet. I was just a few days too early. I skipped going to the museums and zoo as I prefer the outdoors and I was not that fond of Zoos.
